What Can I Expect

Make your own afternoon tea in a cookery class in the heart of central London. This has to be the ultimate afternoon tea experience - you'll be making it yourself and then eating it! Just perfect.

In a quiet street just a couple of minutes' walk from Oxford Circus underground station, you'll find this first floor cookery school. It's a great location and a great set-up with modern, well-equipped work stations and kitchen.

The aim of the afternoon is simple. You will be working together, alongside your chef host, to make a marvellous spread of sweet and savoury treats. And when you're done, you'll all sit down together to enjoy the delicious, freshly made things you created.

So what's on the menu? You'll be making bread rolls from scratch. Baking the lightest sponge cake and whipping up a yummy ganache. Making pastry bases and lemon curd to go in them. Then there are the lightest, fluffiest baked scones - with savoury cheese and herb ones too. And you'll even be making the egg mayo for your savoury sandwiches.

All this talk of delicious home-made food is making us feel hungry! The warm, sweet aromas of the baking wafting through the kitchens is a precursor to the final flourish. This is the moment you'll be cracking open the English sparkling wine and sitting down to enjoy everything you've made. Of course, cups of tea will be available too!
