What Can I Expect

Fancy going solo in a Formula 4 single seater? Drive this British championship racing car for six thrilling miles of the race track at Prestwold Hall in Leicestershire to have your Lando Norris moment! (He won the British FIA4 series in 2015!).

Formula 4 is an official racing category governed and certified by the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile). It was created to bridge the gap between kart racing and Formula 3. In the UK, this new FIA 4 category superseded the Formula Ford Championship.

The idea is that these open wheelers are on a level playing field. For example, they are all kitted out with the same engine (in this case a 1.6l Ford EcoBoost motor). This means that it really is driver skill that makes all the difference as to how well you fare on the track.

Let’s see how you get on driving an FIA 4 single seater! Of course, safety is paramount, so you’ll be kitted out with a full face helmet and strapped in with the four-point, racing style harness. There will also be a full safety briefing.

And don't forget, having only one seat means there’s no room for a handy instructor to be sitting next to you, giving you tips about the racing line and braking points. It’s just you in the race car cockpit!

The interior of these Formula 4 racers is as pared down as you’d imagined. The elliptical steering wheel is where it all happens, with the paddle shift, six-speed sequential gear box to power you through those corners.

And a little bit of advice. You don’t have to turn much to put full lock on these cars, such is the precision of the steering, so be careful in those corners! You’re sure to get faster with every lap though - and you’ll enjoy every exhilarating minute of your Formula 4 single seater drive!

  • Valid for selected weekdays throughout the year
  • Option to include weekend dates is available when booking your date for a fee of £25

Suitable For

  • Minimum age 18
  • Under 18s must have parental consent to take part in this experience
  • Height restrictions: minimum 4ft 10ins, maximum 6ft
  • Weight restrictions: maximum 17 stone
  • Drivers must hold a full UK driving licence which will need to be presented on the day
  • Anyone deemed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be allowed to participate
  • Drivers must be in reasonable health to drive

Spectators

  • Spectators are welcome and there's usually the possibility of enjoying high speed passenger rides (additional fee payable on the day)
  • Pets are not allowed at the site

Anything Else

  • There are pay on the day activities (subject to availability)
  • Optional Collision Waiver Indemnity is available to purchase at the venue at an extra charge
  • Refreshments are available to purchase, toilet facilities and viewing areas are provided
  • Participants must arrive one hour before their session start time
