What Can I Expect

Flying lessons in Thirsk! Fly out of Bagby Airfield with 30 and 60-minute trial flights in two and four seater light aircraft to go flying over God’s Own Country in North Yorkshire.

This CAA-approved flight training school is based at the friendly and welcoming Bagby Airfield, just south-east of Thirsk off the A19. Affectionately known as ‘Bagby International’ it’s a great place to fly from, with stunning scenery all around.

On a 30-minute lesson you’ll fly around the local area, which includes the stunning North York Moors and may take you as far up as Middlesborough, or across to Northallerton. Extended 60-minute flights increase the radius and can include areas around York and the North Yorkshire coast at the likes of Whitby.

As well as looking down on superb North Yorkshire countryside, all flights are operated as first lessons (or more advanced if you have had some flying time before), with teaching on a one-to-one basis.

The instructors at Thirsk are passionate and patient, which is the ideal combination for getting the best out of their students, whether it’s a little dabble in flying, or you’re keen on getting your pilot’s licence.
