Artisan Bread Weekend (Intermediate)

  • The course is is designed to teach you the traditional artisanal bread-making techniques that result in delicious, nutritious bread

Baking Weekend (Foundation)

Beginners Cookery Weekend  (Foundation)

Dinner Parties Plus  (Intermediate)

  • Learn techniques to deliver a fantastic, three-course dinner party menu quickly and effectively. With a focus on presentation, and quality ingredients

Fish & Seafood Plus  (Intermediate)

  • You will be taught the best ways to prepare, cook and serve fish & seafood.  learn the secrets to selecting the freshest fish, and how to easily prepare it including scaling, gutting, and filleting

Indian Plus  (Intermediate)

  • Learn the fundamentals of Indian cookery, covering the concepts, history and skills required to understand this hugely varied and vibrant cuisine

Patisserie Plus  (Intermediate)

  • This course combines the best Patisserie and Viennoiserie into one weekend

What Can I Expect

On the edge of Dartmoor, just outside the pretty Devonshire town of Ashburton, you'll find this very modern, architecture-designed cookery school. The family business was founded by Stella West-Harling MBE and has been welcoming students to its kitchens since 1992.

We are offering weekend cooking courses, with teaching over two days. Accommodation is available at Ashburton Court B&B. You can book this directly with the school and you can bring someone with you too, even if they're not attending the course.

The courses available at the award-winning Ashburton Cookery School are divided into two categories : foundation and intermediate. If you're a total novice, the foundation courses are for you. If you're already a bit of a home cook, the intermediate courses will offer you lots of inspirational learning.

The chef tutors are amazing on these weekend cookery courses. They've worked all over the world in Michelin-starred establishments, five-star hotels, luxury cruise liners and gastro pubs too. All are super passionate about what they do and that certainly comes across during these courses.

And if you're wondering how hands-on these cookery courses are, we can say around 90% of the time you are at your workstation cooking.
