
This Hurricane flying experience will see you witnessing an aerial aerobatics display from your seat in an executive helicopter! A truly fascinating and thrilling experience based all around the much-loved World War Two fighter plane, the Hurricane.
Originally built by the Canadian Car Company, this MkX11a hurricane took her first flight with the Royal Canadian Airforce in 1943. She played roles in many military operations all over the world, before being lovingly restored by Paul Mercer in 1985. The Historic Aircraft Collection acquired G-HURI in 2002 and decided to renovate her to the livery she was in for the siege of Malta complete with code letters HA-C under the registration Z5140.
You'll take off in the helicopter from a site in East Kent and as you are flying above the Kentish coastline, the magnificent Hurricane will suddenly come in to view, ready for a short display which will take place around you.
These Hurricane flying experiences offer a truly memorable day out for any fan of these iconic aircraft and at the end of your flight, you will be presented with a mounted signed photograph - a perfect memento for a superb day of aviation.

This 'Hurricane flying' experience allows you to witness a specially choreographed airborne Hurricane display from the comfort of an executive Helicopter. You will fly alongside the Z5140 Hurricane from the Historic Aircraft Collection as it performs breathtaking high speed aerobatics and flypasts. The helicopter flight will last 20 minutes, which will include a 15 minute display form the Hurricane. You may be forming part of a group of six passengers in the helicopter. At mounted signed photograph will be presented to each guests as a memento of the experience.

Selected dates are scheduled for June and September 2012. You may be able to reserve the front seat next to the pilot within the helicopter for an additional fee (payable on site).

Flights depart from helipads in East Kent. Sites such as Hythe, Lydd, Rochester and Manston are used subject to the current location of the aircraft. The Hurricane does not take off or land from these locations.

There are no age restrictions for this experience. The maximum passenger weight for the six seater helicopter is 95kg (210lbs). Please note at no point do guests fly in the Hurricane

Friends and family are welcome to watch your departure and arrival in the helicopter. The Hurricane will pass overhead giving spectators good views of the aircraft in flight. Binoculars are recommended.
