These helicopter sessions in Newcastle leave from the South side of the busy Newcastle International Airport so you might get to see the Angel of the North and the River Tyne from the air! At this centre you can choose from a 30 or 60 minute lesson in a two seater Robinson helicopter.
All heli sessions are preceded by a 30 minute ground briefing given by your CAA approved helicopter flying instructor, who will be teaching you on a one to one basis. Once strapped in to the pilot seat, the blades will start turning and amidst all the engine noise you'll feel the landing skids gently float off the runway and you will start to experience the sensation of effortless manoeuvrability of the chopper.
Handling the helicopter's controls yourself on these sessions, you'll soon realise that it's all about co-ordination and reading your flight conditions. You may even have a go at hovering at fixed altitude using the foot pedals and controls to constantly correct the helicopter.
