Enjoy a friendly club feel for your flights out of Eaglescott Airfield! This school of flying in North Devon is run by dedicated enthusiasts who love flying and love to teach, so whichever flight option you choose, you'll learn all about and experience the delights of flying your own light aircraft.

Nestled in the North Devonshire countryside, Eaglescott is just six nautical miles east of Torrington and 10 nautical miles south of Barnstaple. There is lots of aviation club activity going on at the airfield, which has a 600m long grass runway, two landing pads and an emergency cross wind runway.

With two large hangars the airfield is home to many privately and club-owned light aircraft, such as the Piper Tomahawks used for these trial flights. The airfield, which lies five miles from the Devon coastline, is free from controlled airspace, so your lesson will take place in a relaxed atmosphere under guidance from fully trained flying instructors, with plenty of time for you to have a go at flying the plane yourself.

Experience Summary: All flight experiences include a pre flight briefing where your instructor will discuss the content of the lesson. Once airborne you will get the chance to take control of the aircraft, usually a 2 seat Tomahawk. IntotheBlue offers a wide choice of flying lessons at most airfields and clubs around the UK. 

Availability: Flights are usually available on most weekends and selected weekdays throughout the year, subject to weather conditions.

Location: Eaglescott Airfield is located in Burrington, near Great Torrington in Devon. The North Devon coastline is just a short distance away.

Requirements: The maximum weight for two-seater flights is 18 stone, a maximum height limit of 6'4" also applies. Minimum age is 14.

Spectators and Facilities: Spectators are very welcome, there's a clubroom with catering facilities and views across the airfield.
