Decades after qualifying as a jet fighter pilot, US Navy test pilot Maverick is sent back to Naval Air Station North Island to instruct an elite team of pilots recruited for a high-risk mission to destroy a uranium enrichment plant. The plant is in the heart of a deep, deep canyon, protected by surface-to-air missiles and an air base.

You will be joining Maverick's Top Gun flight simulator team. Your first sortie iwill be a training mission, so you can practice your low-level, tight-valley flying. And yes, it's flying by the seat of your pants, where you will feel the need for speed!

Now you've got your stripes, it's time to adopt your flying moniker (ours would be ‘Bluey') and prepare yourself to fly that fully-armed jet into enemy territory. The Top Gun flight sim will put you right where Maverick is - on a US Navy aircraft carrier somewhere in the middle of the ocean. This is your moment to shine…

Take off will be abrupt. It's going to be dog eat dog out there. Destroy or be destroyed. Big risk, big gains. And all those other cheesy Hollywood-worthy lines come to mind, as you launch the fighter jet down the narrow valley towards the target. Suddenly, enemy Su-57s are on your tail. Break right, break left..do anything you can to outwit them.

With the uranium plant in sight, lock on the target and release those air-to-ground missiles intent on destruction. Will you be cool, calm and collected like Maverick during your Top Gun flight simulator experience, or will you be shot down by the enemy? If you make it, we're sure you'll be allowed to request a flyby - or even buzz the tower in true Maverick style!

As you can probably tell, this experience is inspired by the blockbuster movie Top Gun: Maverick, starring Tom Cruise. It's  top-level entertainment for all budding aviators. Book your slot in the Top Gun flight simulator for a serious amount of aerial fun, Captain Pete Mitchell-style!

Availability

• Weekdays and weekends throughout the year
• Dates and session times are subject to availability

Suitable For

• Minimum age to fly in the Top Gun simulator is 10
• Under 16s must be accompanied on site by an adult
• Access to the simulator is by climbing over the sides (just like a real aircraft)
• Steps are provided to assist
• For those with limited mobility the cockpit side can be removed for easier access

Spectators

• Up to 4 guests may wait in the lounge area during your session
• Due to limited space in the sim hall only one standing spectator is permitted

Anything Else

• This is a fixed based simulator and does not move
