What's Included

  • Flight times are 'chock to chock', ie. from when the plane starts to taxi, to when it switches off at the end of the lesson

Double Flight Experience for Two:

  • 2 x 20 minute flights taking off and landing at Welshpool
  • One hands on flight each with the other person observing
  • Alternatively one person can take both flights with the other spectating

What Can I Expect

Four seater flying lessons in Powys! We are offering vouchers for 30 and 60-minute trial lessons, as well as a special 2 x 20-minute flight deal for two. All experiences take place at Welshpool Airport.

Sitting just south of Welshpool town, this small and friendly Powys airport is a true delight. The scenery is amazing, with rolling Welsh hills and green, green valleys as the backdrop to your flight.

Flying has been happening in this quiet corner of Powys since late founder Bob Jones (a dairy farmer who was as passionate about planes as he was about cows!) decided to develop an airport back in the late 1980s. His legacy lives on today with Welshpool Airport boasting a long, tarmac runway, several aircraft hangars, offices and an on-site cafe popular with aviators and locals alike.

You’ll be welcomed to the airport like an old friend when you arrive for your experience. This school specialises in flight training, so you’ll be in very experienced hands. And indeed, every flight is taught as a lesson, including the chance for you to take the controls.

You will be flying in a four-seater Cessna 172 for your lesson.  If you have a standard 30 or 60-minute flight voucher, you’ll be able to invite someone along to fly as an observer in the rear seat, watching you in the Captain’s seat.

The 2 x 20-minute flight experience for two is a great little deal. It means one of you is in the hot seat for the first flight whilst the other is observing from the rear. After landing you then swap over and do it all again. It’s a brilliant way of getting lots of air time!
