What Can I Expect

Flying lessons near Cambridge out of Fowlmere Airfield! There is a full range of flight durations for you to choose from at this friendly and welcoming General Aviation airfield between Royston and Duxford.

Having an impressive fleet of aircraft means we can also offer you a choice of plane. The two-seater flights with this Cambridge school are operated by the Grob 115b and a 1946 Cessna. A Cessna Cardinal is on the cards if you opt for the four-seater experiences.

The vintage Cessna is a delight. It adds an extra dimension to your lesson, as flying in it is a bit like being in a classic car. It's all about back-to-basics, but it has oodles of charm. You'll be harking back to the fledgling days of post-war flying if you head up in this historic Cessna for some tailwheel joy.

The Grob, on the other hand, is a prime example of a very sleek, very modern light aircraft. It's effortless to fly. The control inputs are light and very responsive. And what's more, the visibility under that big canopy is amazing, so you're afforded superb views of the Cambridgeshire countryside all around you as you fly on your lesson.

Four-seater experiences are taken in the flight school's Cessna Cardinal 177RG. This is one very grown-up aircraft, with retractable gear, a variable propellor and even autopilot. The cabin feels spacious and you'll be comfortable upfront in the pilot's seat. Subject to restrictions, you can even invite passengers to join you for your flight.

We have 30, 45 and 60-minute flight options in any of this trio from the fleet based at Cambridge's Fowlmere Airfield. All experiences are taught as a first lesson, so you won't just be admiring the views up there, you'll actually get to fly the plane too.
