What Can I Expect

Fancy a spot of fly fishing in Surrey? Spend some time at Leigh Mill Lake learning to fly fish in an idyllic setting. We are offering vouchers for the intro experience, half and full-day courses at this fishing club near Godstone.

Leigh Mill is a fantastically serene location to fish. It’s easy to get to from all over Surrey and Kent, hidden in the countryside near Godstone. This three-acre private lake is fed by the clear cold spring waters of Gibbs Brook and is well-stocked with fish.

You will be fishing for Rainbow and Brown Trout, as well as Wild Perch. It’s Catch and Cook, or Catch and Release at Leigh Mill lakes, so it’s up to you whether you fish for your supper or not!

All the gear you need to fish is included on these Surrey experiences. All tuition is on a one-to-one basis and entirely geared to you, ensuring you get the most out of your time at the lakeside.

The coaches are all super friendly, skilled anglers. They know these waters well and will help you master the basics, hone your skills, or even grasp those advanced fly fishing techniques. Whatever your level, there’s lots to learn at Leigh Mill.

Facilities on site are really good. There are 14 platforms dotted around the lake for casting off. There are a couple of shelters and a floating lodge too. The lakeside cottage has full kitchen facilities (ideal for making a cuppa during your fishing day!) and parking isn’t a problem, with lots of space and easy, level access to the lake.
