What Can I Expect

A fascinating day of aviation on this Electric Flight & Simulator Experience in Norwich! One voucher, with three experiences rolled into one. Time in the simulator is combined with a 30-minute lesson in the school’s electric plane and there’s even a hangar tour too!

You will be spending the day at Saxon Air’s base at Norwich International Airport. The purpose-built HQ is away from the main passenger terminal and is home to several sectors of the company’s aviation services.

On your tour, you will be treated to a fascinating behind the scenes insight into the facility and  operations. You might well come across private jets in for maintenance, or see some of the fleet of helicopters that are available for charter - there’s always lots going on!

The star of your visit is the 100% electric Pipistrel Velis Electro. This innovative light aircraft is the future of training and leisure flying, with zero emissions and a lot less noise, all without compromising performance or the onboard comfort.

To get ready for your actual flight, you will be invited to spend time in the Velis simulator. With you in the captain’s seat and your instructor next to you, you will learn about the controls in the most realistic way possible without leaving the ground.

Then it’s time for your fully electric flight. Taking off from Norwich’s International Airport, you’ll be amazed at how quiet the plane is, how agile it is and how much fun it is to fly - and all that with the stunning Norwich coast and countryside as your backdrop.
