What Can I Expect

This de Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunk 22 is a particularly nice example. Built in 1952 as a trainer for the RAF under serial number WK624, she retains many of her original features, such as the cockpit instrument set and her Gipsy Major Mk2 engine. And quite a glorious noise she makes too!
Having been demobbed in 1995 after decades of loyal service, she was re-registered on the civil list as G-BWHI. Still flying in her genuine RAF trainer colours, this charming Chippie is loving life at Blackpool Airport.
A busy general and business airport occupying a superb position right next to the coast, Blackpool is a great location for a flight in a Chipmunk. Just imagine taking off and gazing down at the golf course, the tram depot and North Beach below you. As you gain height, the sights of Blackpool unfold, with far-reaching views towards the Dales.
