Half Day
- Sessions last four hours
- Examples of items you could make include a poker, key ring, coat hook or bottle opener
Full Day
- Full days provide more hands-on time with the opportunity to create maybe something you have in mind!
- Sessions last 6 hours with a break for lunch

What Can I Expect
Blacksmithing experiences in Northamptonshire! Join Kelly Burton in her workshop for half and full-day courses to create your very own stunning forged metal piece to take home with you.
The Old Dairy Farm is a hive of activity. Nestled in the Northamptonshire countryside not far from Towcester and Daventry, you'll find stone-built farm buildings converted to workshops and studios to welcome craftspeople and artists.
One of the artisans is blacksmith Kelly. She studied Artist Blacksmithing at university and the talented blacksmith specialises in traditional metalwork with a contemporary twist. She is very much inspired by the Art Nouveau movement, using curves and flowing lines to bring the metal elegantly and effortlessly to life.
Looking around her Northamptonshire studio, you'll see examples of her blacksmithing work include everything from large, functional pieces such as gates, to smaller decorative pieces like the delicate yet strong forged metal flowers. Look closely and you might even see a little metal bumblebee on the flower head!
Such attention to detail and creativity is central to Kelly's productions. As soon as you meet her, it's clear to see she loves her work. An awful lot of passion goes into each and every forged piece.
Spending time with Kelly will show you how to use those traditional ways to be able to create something beautiful for yourself. No need to be really complicated or convoluted, beauty is often in simplicity.
With a a choice of exclusive sessions for two, or shared small groups and lunch in the on-site cafe for full-day participants, we think you will love these relaxed and very creative blacksmithing experiences in Northamptonshire.
