Get a flavour of rallying with these taster rally experiences in Essex! The beauty of these sessions is that they offer superb value for money, yet enough time for budding rally drivers to push the cars and themselves to the limit.
Choosing the Taster Rally in Essex will give you big thrills in both a rear and front wheel drive rally car. The rally cars revving their engines in the pits ready to roll include Ford Escorts, Sierras, Vauxhall Astras and Peugeot 205s. All are fully rally-prepared with roll cages, stripped out interiors, body kits and Recaro seats with full harnesses.
All experiences start with a rally briefing and getting kitted out in helmets. When it's your turn to go rallying, you'll have one lap as a familiarisation session, before going all out for two full throttle laps. After a short break you'll then change cars for another three thrilling laps negotiating the concrete, loose dirt and gravel surfaces, with hairpins, straights and sweeping corners too.
With all these options available, there really is no excuse for not wanting to have a rally taster experience at this friendly centre in Essex. Friends and family will love the activity too, as they can watch from the covered stand and enjoy a direct view of all the rally action.
The experience lasts approximately two and a half hours and includes:
- Welcome and safety briefing.
- In car introduction to the controls and features of the vehicles.
- Practice driving lap + 2 full speed driving laps of the 1.5 mile circuit.
- Swap cars for 3 more laps of the 1.5 mile circuit.
- High Speed passenger ride with the instructor driving.
- Debrief with presentation of certificate and score sheet.

Taster sessions are available on most Tuesdays and Saturdays throughout the year.
The rally driving stage is located in Essex, South of East Anglia. There is easy access from the M11 and is in close reach of Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire.
Minimum age is 17. Participants must hold a full driving licence. Maximum weight is 16 stone. Minimum height is 5ft, maximum height is 6ft4''. Safety helmets are provided.
Spectators are welcome and there are great viewing areas of the whole track. Children must be supervised at all times. No dogs are allowed onsite. Ample parking in available. There is a cafe onsite selling hot and cold food and drinks. Depending on availability spectators can receive a high speed demo lap for £10 payable on the day.
