These hovercrafting experiences near Market Harborough, Leicestershire will, quite literally, bring you to your knees! To pilot these unusual craft you'll be perched in a kneeling position so you can use your weight to shift and control where your hovercraft is going.
As well as needing a good sense of balance, there's judgement and a good dose of forward thinking required, because a hovercraft has just a throttle and rudder - there are no brakes! Of course, you won't just be let loose on these hovers to cause a load of bovver, you'll have instruction and guidance before you try out the slalom course.
Once you've got the hang of the basic controls of air-cushioned travel (we won't say mastered!) you head off on the hovercraft course. The idea is to avoid hitting the posts to score as many points as possible and, hopefully, make it across the water obstacle too.
These hovercrafting experiences take place on the edge of an airfield conveniently located on the Northamptonshire/Leicestershire border between Rugby and Market Harborough. The venue offers easy access from the M1, A6 and A14, making it an excellent choice for Midlanders keen to get sliding over water and land in these madcap hovercraft.

Both experiences begin with a meet and greet session with your pilot as well as a safety and instruction briefing. The 1:1 experience will give one to one instruction before kneeling inside the craft to try it out for yourself. You will get to try two types of steering in both a handle bar and joy stick controlled hovercraft. Please allow 1.5 hours for this experience. Total flying time will be one hour.
Participants of the shared experience will take part in a number of challenges including flying over water, team relay races and individual time trials. The whole experience will last 2-2.5 hours based on a group of 12 taking turns to tackle the challenges. Complimentary tea, coffee and soft drinks for participants are included with both.

Experiences are available on most weekday and weekend dates throughout the year. Hovercraft experiences are available in other UK locations, please see our main
hovercraft racing and hovercrafting section for more information.
