What Can I Expect

Go climbing in Sunderland! These vouchers are for four of you to try the indoor climbing wall at this activity centre based right on the beachfront on Roker Beach.

If you’ve never climbed before, this seven-metre wall is the perfect choice. There are various routes of varying difficulty for you to tackle, so you’ll be able to progress as your confidence grows.

Before you start climbing, this welcoming Sunderland team will literally show you the ropes. Following a safety briefing, all climbers get kitted out with harness and carabiner and you’ll be shown how you are attached to the rope.

The coaches are all NICAS (National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme) qualified and they are really good at teaching how you actually climb. Once you’ve reached the top (or wherever you’re comfortable going to) they’ll guide you how you use abseiling techniques to get down.

The first time you tackle a route you’re sure to feel a little nervous. But having climbed up and glided back down, there’s no denying that well-deserved feeling of self-achievement and elation. Chances are you’ll be hooked and you’ll immediately be setting off on your next route on this fantastic indoor climbing wall!
