What Can I Expect

Thrilling white water rafting in Glasgow! Get ready to make a splash at this unique urban watersports centre in Scotland, riding the rapids in a raft.

This watersports centre at Pinkston, just beyond the M8 in Glasgow, is Scotland's only artificial white water centre. It's really close to the city and is a great place to get a group of you together and try something new - but we have to warn you, you will be getting wet!

The flat-water basin opened in 2014 and has bathing-quality water for swimming and things like kayaking. As you are rafting, you will be tackling the full-on, 100m-long, purpose-built whitewater course, with swirling water challenges and obstacles at every turn.

A team of six of you will jump aboard an inflatable raft with a guide at the helm. You’ll each have a paddle to get you moving and steer your way around the course. The guide will be at the stern of the raft, helping steer and motivating the troops!

And yes, this is Scotland, so you will be kitted out in a full wetsuit, along with a buoyancy aid and helmet. Safety is paramount, so there will be an on-shore safety briefing before you launch onto (or should that be into?) the water.

White water rafting at this wee gem of a place in Glasgow is great fun. It’s suitable from the age of 10, so whether you’re a family, mates, work colleagues, couple or solo, you can ride these rapids!

When Is It Available

• Weekdays and weekends throughout the year, subject to availability
• Sessions require minimum numbers of 4 to operate so individuals and couples will join other small groups
