What Can I Expect
Great value weekday shared hot air balloon flights over Oxfordshire! Take off from the lovely Wild Pig Farm at Stadhampton any day during the week for a serene and fabulous ride in a hot air balloon.
The location in south Oxfordshire for your balloon ride really makes the experience. It's a proper working farm and farm shop, so there are lots of good onsite facilities. It's an excellent choice if you've got friends and family wanting to watch you take off on your balloon ride and wait for your return.
And what a ride it'll be! Hot air ballooning is amazing. This Oxfordshire team will put you at ease, explaining what to expect at take off and what will happen when you land. And don't forget, it's the wind that will determine which way you go and how far, so it really is an aerial adventure.
Your balloon pilot will use the burners to gain altitude and you will reach around 2000ft. Looking down on the Oxfordshire countryside below is breathtaking. It's a patchwork of fields and Oxfordshire villages, interspersed with roads and rivers. It all looks so different from the air and you get an incredible view from your spot in the basket.
Landing in a balloon is great fun. Expect to come down with a bit of a bump and you could be dragged along in the basket for a bit. It's really quite exciting. And if you're up for it, you can help with the deflating and packing up, before being transported back to the farm to greet your waiting friends and family.
A nice little touch to finish; you and your fellow balloon riders get to toast the day you went on a hot air balloon ride in Oxfordshire with a flute of Champagne. If you've always wanted to go on a balloon adventure, now's the time to do it!
When Is It Available
- Vouchers are valid for use on weekdays from April to October
- Sunrise flights take off approximately one hour after sunrise
- Sunset flights take off around three hours before sunset
- Participants should arrive at least one hour before take-off
- Weather conditions need to be optimal for balloons to fly safely
- If the weather forecast is deemed unsuitable your flight will be rescheduled
- Participants must phone at 10:30 on the evening before for sunrise flights or at 13:00 on the day for sunset flights to check the status of the flight and arrival time
