What Can I Expect

Buy your voucher for a Great Central Railway Afternoon Tea for two! A delightful taste of nostalgia with this superb package that combines travel on steam and diesel trains, with a stop off for a traditional afternoon tea at one of the railway's station tea rooms.

This Afternoon Tea deal gives you unlimited travel on Great Central Railway trains with a 'rover' style 'All Line Day Runabout' ticket for two people, with an informal tea included at Ellis's Tea Room at the Rothley station stop, or the Butler Henderson cafe at Quorn station.

The Rothley tea room is a former corn store restored in an Edwardian style, whilst the Quorn cafe has a more 1940s feel to it. Both offer excellent views of the goings on at this highly popular steam railway and, of course, all the tasty savoury and sweet afternoon tea goodies you love, along with piping hot tea and coffee.

Whether you choose to take your steam train afternoon tea in Rothley or Quorn, you are sure to love the setting. The Great Central Railway is the country's only mainline heritage railway. It is a large operation, with a proper timetable of services running throughout the main seasons, with four different stations in operation. Make sure you explore them on foot too, as each station stop has things to see and explore, from the cosy waiting rooms with real log fires, to the just-as-it-would-have-been parcel office under the stairs, there's lots to see.

So, be sure to make the most of your all-day access to the trains, factoring in stops at each station and not forgetting time out to relax and enjoy your afternoon tea in the Ellis or Butler Henderson cafes. These Great Central Railway Afternoon Tea for two packages are a great way to enjoy a full day out at this historic Leicestershire railway.
