What Can I Expect

Book onto the Gin Craze Experience for a fun gin tour of London! Head off to visit the hidden drinking holes and gin palaces that have survived the Blitz and the property developers, for a fascinating guided tour all about London and Gin.

London has seen several gin crazes over the centuries. In the 1750s there were literally thousands of ‘dram shops'. Then the Victorians decided they loved their gin and opulent palaces were built all over the capital. And in recent years, we've seen a resurgence in micro distilleries blending amazing gin flavours for the modern gin drinker.

Your Gin Craze Experience host knows a thing or two about the relationship Londoners have with gin (we have the London Dry Gin after all!). They will guide you around amazing watering holes with the wow factor, pubs with amazing interiors and inns that are privy to incredible stories and urban legends.

You'll meet at The Blackfriar, just along from the train station of the same name. This very distinctive building is a Victorian drinking house built on the site of a friary. The interior is really special - from the colourful frescos to the intricate mosaics. What's more, this is where you'll be treated to a G&T - a very welcome ice breaker drink to start your tour.

Having visited and seen several public houses and gin palaces, you'll arrive at the City of London Gin Distillery, home of Whitley Neill Gin. This is the only gin distillery within the City of London and it's a very cool place to visit. You'll get an insight into how they blend their gins here, as well as enjoying a flight of four in-house gins on a tasting.
