What Can I Expect

The Ultimate Yorkshire flight experience in a lovely Tiger Moth - surely the aerial trip of a lifetime? Take off from Breighton Airfield near Selby, for a 60-minute flight over the very best of Yorkshire.

There are various flight paths for these ultimate experiences, with all routes filled to the brim with iconic landmarks and sights to see from that wonderful open-cockpit perspective the vintage Tiger Moth biplane gives.

You could set off from Breighton and head in a northerly direction, tracking the River Derwent. You’ll see the likes of the Yorkshire Air Museum (the UK’s largest independent aviation museum at Elvington Aerodrome) and take in a lovely aerial view of York city (including the Minster) as you go.

A highlight for many is flying over Castle Howard. This impressive 18th century house is probably best known as the filming location for the Netflix hit TV series ‘Bridergton’. And believe us, the grandiose house and gardens look even more imposing from the air!

Set off in a southerly direction from Breighton Airfield for your ultimate flight experience and you could be soaring over the likes of Goole Docks, one of the Humber Ports, associated with the Humber Estuary and its tributaries, but some 50 miles from the open sea. Flying towards the estuary, you’ll spot Spurn Point, where the Easington lighthouse is perched.

Wherever you go, flying in a vintage Moth over the Yorkshire Dales and coast is a truly superb experience. Suitable For

• Minimum age 14
• Under 18s must be accompanied on the airfield by an adult
• Height restrictions: minimum 4ft ins, maximum of 6ft 5ins
• Weight restrictions: maximum 16 stone
• Prolonged periods of inactivity, air pressure changes, G pressure changes, turbulence, noise and light levels experienced during flights in open cockpit vintage aircraft may affect certain medical conditions
• Any passenger with any doubts about their health when flying should seek medical advice
• You are advised to wear warm comfortable clothing

Spectators

• Friends and family are welcome to come along and watch with great photo opportunities
• Dogs are not permitted on the airfield

Anything Else

• All Tiger Moth and other vintage aircraft flights are operated by aeroclubs fully compliant with Civil Aviation Authority rules and regulations
• The flight times quoted are 'chock to chock', so run from taxiing out to when you stop after landing
• A café is available at the weekend for light lunches, snacks and cake as well as hot and cold drinks
