What Can I Expect

Visit Blenheim Palace and enjoy a meal for two! These packages give the two of you entry to Blenheim Palace and estate, as well as a two-course meal at the Macdonald Bear Hotel, just a 10 minute walk from the house.

Blenheim Palace is a lavish stately home on the banks of the River Glyme on the outskirts of the pretty village of Woodstock, just beyond Oxford. It is, of course, the ancestral home (and birth place) of Winston Churchill and today the Palace remains the family home of the Duke of Marlborough,

With our wonderful package for two you will be discovering Blenheim Palace for the day. Highlights for visitors include the roof platform, which is only open whilst the renovations take place, for far-reaching views across the estate. And of course, for many visitors, the impeccable Capability Brown-designed formal gardens are simply breathtaking.

Inside Blenheim, the Life Below Stairs exhibition literally lifts the lid on servant life and it is utterly fascinating stuff. Don’t miss the Family Treasures Collection filled with amazing gifts and artefacts collected over the years and the Palace State Rooms are a must, as is the Churchill exhibition.

During your visit to Blenheim there may well be guided tours both ‘upstairs’ and ‘downstairs’ that you can join, subject to availability for a more in-depth, hosted visit to parts of the Palace not normally seen.

All that touring and exploring is hungry work, so, after a 10-minute stroll into the neighbouring village of Woodstock, sit down to your two-course meal served at the restaurant of the Macdonald Bear Hotel, a delightful 13th century coaching inn.

With entry to Blenheim Palace and a delicious meal too, you’re sure to leave Woodstock village enlightened, entertained, fed and watered in the best possible way!

• Exclusion dates apply including 25th December 26th December 31st December, New Year’s Day Mother’s Day, Easter Sunday, Father’s Day.
• Not valid for entrance on special event days including Christmas Lights trail in December
• Dates are subject to availability

Blenheim Palace

• The Park is open from 09:00, the Gardens from 10:00 and the Palace from 10:30
• Last entry at 16:45. The Park closes at 18:00

Macdonald Bear Hotel

• Open 7 days a week and lunch is available from 12-5.00pm

• Under 18s must be accompanied by a participating adult

Anything Else

• Bookings must be made at least 14 working days in advance
• Please note: There will be scaffolding/netting around the front of the palace during restoration works
