What Can I Expect
Exhilarating aerobatic experiences at Hawarden Aerodrome near Chester! Take to the skies in a Slingsby Firefly for a flight filled with loops and rolls at this renowned airport on the edge of Wales and Cheshire.
You might know Hawarden as Chester Airport, or even Broughton. This is the home of Airbus wing assembly in the UK and where the impressive Beluga XL is a regular visitor, which is why the hard runway is an impressive 2043 metres long!
Excellent facilities (ATC, ground handling and the fab Chock’s Away cafe restaurant) means Hawarden is a great location to fly from. Add into that the fact that it’s an aerobatic flight you’re going on and it’s going to be excitement all the way.
Indeed the Slingsby Firefly T67M is a top choice for aerobatic flying out of Hawarden. Side-by-side seating (rather than tandem) means you can see everything your flight instructor is doing - and you get superb views out of the cockpit too.
Once airborne and in the training zone, the aerobatics will begin. Loops, spins and more besides, you can even request a move if you like!
At some point in the proceedings, you will be invited to take the controls of the Firefly and under the watchful eye of your instructor, you’ll be flying this nimble and agile aerobatic training aircraft.
