Carr Taylor Tour and Lunch

near Hastings

Experiences Flash element

This vineyard tour in Hastings is in the middle of 1066 country in East Sussex. The vineyard has been family-owned since 1971 and is now run by Alex Carr Taylor, who quite literally grew up amongst the vines, as it was his parents who planted them and started the wine production that the family remains so resolutely passionate about today.

Your visit includes a welcome tea or coffee with a slice of delicious locally-baked cake, before you head off on your guided tour of the vineyards. Having looked around the fermentation, bottling and blending processes (which are all done by hand, as is the grape harvesting) you will be treated to a tutorial tasting of the wines they produced, including the award-winning sparkling whites and delicious fruit wines.

After tasting the fruits of their labour, you will then enjoy a hearty buffet Ploughman's lunch in the winery restaurant, tucking in to farmhouse pates, local cheeses, fresh salad, village baked bread with relishes and, of course, a glass of wine. This vineyard tour in Hastings is a fascinating day out where you'll find yourselves in the heart of a small, but very dynamic wine business.
