Wildlife watching has to be one of the most relaxing and yet exciting experiences that Into the Blue offers. Imagine being guided to the best spots by the expert rangers, settling quietly and waiting...waiting to hear a movement, a ruffling of leaves, the sound of small furry feet and there you are face to face with badgers, hares, rabbits and Roe deer! Truly magical!

Set on a stunning private estate in the heart of West Sussex near Midhurst, you'll instantly have a feeling of well-being and feeling at one with nature in wildlife in such a gorgeous setting and what's more you'll be taken around in one of the estate's 4x4 vehicles for most of the experience, so there's very little trudging around to be done.

The wildlife experience is completely flexible - you can take part on a one to one basis, or share the guided tour with up to three other friends or family members at no extra cost. Children are welcome (as long as they're aware they need to stay quiet when waiting the wildlife) and the wildlife rangers will adapt the safari with shorter periods spent waiting silently in the badger hides. Children particularly enjoy the infra-red lamp, for example, which is ideal for spotting bats on the wing which may be included as part of your wildlife experience.

All in all, the Wildlife Nature Trail has something for everyone - panoramic views from on top of the Downs combined with wild creatures, unaware that they are being observed, engaged in courtship rituals or drinking and feeding.

It's the perfect experience for nature-loving adults and youngsters alike, with England's rich wildlife heritage on parade for everyone's entertainment and education!

The experience is entirely flexible - you can choose to go alone or to share with up to three family members or friends. The whole experience will last around three hours.


The wildlife safaris are available from mid-April until the first week of October and can be arranged for times to suit you, with dawn and dusk being the best times to observe the wildlife. Please note a dawn safari starts at around 03:30 in the summer months and if you want to see badgers, you should arrange a dusk safari.


Minimum age 18 if unaccompanied, 6 if accompanied. A 4x4 vehicle is used for the majority of the safari, so no high level of fitness is required. Please be advised that you can bring up to four adults with you, but may be quite a squeeze in the estate vehicle.


This activity is not suitable for spectators.
