Our falconry experiences in Derbyshire offer excellent value for money with an introductory Hawk walk. The centre at Risley also hosts a friendly Hawk walk and a more in-depth half day falconry experience, so there really is something to suit everyone, with all experiences giving you the chance to meet and fly these most distinguished birds.
Bob Morley is a highly experienced falconer and with his team he rears, trains and handles a large collection of birds. You'll get the chance to meet the likes of Mini Me the Indian Eagle Owl, Archie the Barn Owl, Bo the female Harris Hawk and Dude the male Harris Hawk, whilst learning about the work of a falconer and how these birds are trained.
On all experiences you'll be shown how to fly a bird of prey to the glove - a truly breathtaking experience as the graceful raptor swoops back in towards your outstretched gloved hand. If you've never had the chance to be close to birds of prey, these falconry experiences in Derbyshire offer a best value way to have a hands-on day out in the countryside for all to enjoy, with excellent on-site facilities too.

There is a choice of a one hour hawk walk or a three hour bird of prey experience. Both will include plenty of opportunities to handle and fly the birds from the glove under the guidance of an expert falconer. Three hour experiences allow for a longer handing and flying duration and include deeper explanations of a wide variety of species. You may form part of a group of up to 12 other participants. falconry section.

Both experiences run from 11am and are available on weekends and some selected weekdays throughout the year.

The venue is based 8 miles east of Derby with easy access from the M1, J25.
