What Can I Expect

Go to a Thai cooking class in Hertfordshire and learn about everything from tom yum goong soup, to making perfect jasmine rice! Open to both experienced and inexperienced cooks alike, we are offering half and full-day Thai cookery courses that will see you making (and eating) deliciously fresh and fragrant Thai dishes.

This cookery school near Rickmansworth is owned and run by the Spice Queen herself, Kumud Gandhi and her merry band of chefs. Kumud is hugely passionate about her cooking. She credits her parents' backgrounds as chemists and spice merchants for her enthusiasm for flavour combinations that inspires her cooking.

Indeed, Kumud's cookery mantra is to make 'nutritionally rich, visually appealing and divine-tasting food' that you will love preparing and eating.

The Thai cooking classes are amongst the most popular at her Hertfordshire school. They are all totally hands on, with each participant having their own hob and worktop space. The emphasis is very much on the spices and flavours of Thai cuisine. You'll be going on a bit of a spice trail to discover how everyday ingredients are transformed into flavoursome classic Thai dishes when the right herbs and spices are used.

In fact, the basis of good Thai cooking is simplicity. The trick is to combine fresh ingredients with special blends of herbs, to create that fragrant Thai cuisine you love. You'll cover some classic Thai recipes during these classes, including spring rolls, Thai fish cakes and much-loved spicy Thai soups.

And of course, not only will you be making the food during your Thai cooking class in Hertfordshire, you'll be taste testing it too! On both the half and full day lessons, you'll be cooking lunch and eating it with your colleagues, making for a great convivial moment for you all, as you tuck into an authentic Thai meal you made yourself!
