What Can I Expect

Try your hand at artisan soap making! This soap making course in Kent will teach you how to make all-natural soaps in the traditional way and at the end of your day, you'll be treated to a tasty homemade afternoon tea.

Paula founded her soap making business in 2014 selling locally to crafts shops and customers in Kent. She loves creating and formulating products that are kind and beneficial to the skin. All recipes use sustainable plant base oils and utilise only natural oils, scents and colours to make her soaps.

And we have to say, a tray of Paula's hand-crafted soaps look truly good enough to eat. There's Coconut Milk, Oats & Rosemary, Himalayan Salt & Lavender, Green Clay & Lemongrass and Cedarwood. Deliciously creamy, with beautiful swirls of colours they won't just look good in your bathroom, they smell lush and are kind to your skin too.

During your course you'll learn everything you need to know about making soap, from the raw ingredients to mixing colours and scents. Did you know clays, micas and even activated charcoal make lovely natural colours? You'll discover this and much more as you follow the whole soap making process.

These workshops in Kent are very hands-on and each of you will produce around eight bars of soap which are palm oil free to your own personalised recipe. You will, of course, be able to take these soaps home with you, along with the basic soap recipe, course notes - and the confidence to carry on your soap making at home.

If making soap turns into a hobby, there's a useful section on your course giving help and advice about compliance, safety regulations and legalities when selling soaps. It's all really useful info to know and all delivered in an enthusiastic and passionate way by Paula.

Paula's workshops are run in church halls in Bexley, which is served by its own station (zone 6 on the Oyster card), making these workshops easily accessible from London and all over Kent. Having learnt how to create cold process soaps, your soap making course in Kent concludes in the best possible way with a lovely spread of homemade cakes and goodies.
