What's Included
- Trial flying lesson in a Robinson 2 seater R22 or 4 seater R44 helicopter

What Can I Expect
Book a helicopter lesson in Berkshire and you'll be taking off from White Waltham Airfield near Maidenhead. Not only giving flights in helicopters to the likes of you and us, the operator is also renowned for providing rotary aviation services, such as aerial photography and load lifting - all highly specialised stuff that requires a super cool pilot head!
They really are a talented bunch. Commercial airline pilots, RAF pilots who have clocked many thousands of flying hours and even an ex-Formula 1 driver are amongst the team of instructor pilots at White Waltham.
For our selection of helicopter trial lessons in the Berkshire skies, you can choose from the two seater Robinson R22 Beta II, or the four seater version, the R44 Clipper II. The two seater has a cruise speed of 92 knots and a range of 250 nautical miles, whilst the four seat model is faster and has a longer range to boot.
One great advantage of the R44 is that (as long as the pilot instructor approves), you can invite someone to hop into the heli with you as a back seat passenger for the duration of the flight.
A 20 minute pre-flight check and briefing is included on all helicopter taster lessons out of White Waltham. Once completed, get yourself strapped in and as the rotors whirr up to speed, you'll feel yourself lifting into the air. On all flights there is time to 'have a go' with the controls and the standard programme is to do some 'general handling' practice around the local area, before heading back to the airfield to have a go at hovering and some challenging low level flying.
Our helicopter lessons at Berkshire's popular and welcoming White Waltham Airfield operate all year round, subject to weather conditions. And there's lots of choice too, as you can opt for 20, 30 or 60 minute flight durations in these modern, reliable and easy to fly choppers
