What Can I Expect
Hop on one of these thrilling helicopter rides in South Wales and explore the gorgeous Gower Peninsula from the air! The 10, 20 and 30-minute executive sightseeing flights take off from Pembrey Airport, just northwest of Llanelli.
The airport is known as the gateway to West Wales, as it is superbly placed for discovering the Welsh coastline. In fact, as soon as you get airborne in the chopper, you'll be treated to landmarks and natural beauty galore - and that's even before you've reached Gower.
Exploring this 70 square mile peninsula on foot would be fantastic, but it'd take you forever. That's why this helicopter tour operator based in South Wales decided to add the Gower Peninsula (or Penrhyn Gwyr in Welsh) to their selection of itineraries.
By helicopter it takes literally just a couple of minutes to reach the Loughor Estuary, where you cross over Burry Port into Gower. Cue the secluded bays, spectacular beaches and landmarks such as lighthouses and castles, including our favourites Whiteford Lighthouse and the Tudor-built Oxwich Castle.
In essence, every which way you look from your heli, you're in for a visual treat. The peninsula is packed to the gills with beaches, bays, hidden coves, dramatic coastline and loads more.
As you can probably tell, this whole area is particularly photogenic, so we'd highly recommend bringing a camera with you for your helicopter rides over South Wales's superb Gower Peninsula. Of course, flight paths will vary depending on whether you take the 20 or 30 minute option and the weather, but both offer plentiful aerial sightseeing.
