Romeo, Romeo, Romeo…

So romantic - the famous Romeo and Juliet balcony in Verona

So romantic – the famous Romeo and Juliet balcony in Verona

Ah Romeo and Juliet. What a classic by the playmeister himself William Shakespeare. We seem to remember a particularly interesting school trip waaayyy back in time when we were doing our GCSE English Literature syllabus, which involved us swooning over a young Sean Bean who was playing Romeo in an RSC production of the play in Stratford Upon Avon.

The sight of Romeo declaring his undying love for Juliet had us enthralled. Or was it more about the fact that we thought he was gorgeous. Any which way, it meant we took in every word and if my memory serves us correctly we passed the GCSE with flying colours. Thanks Sean!

Fond memories of this great play then and now we’re super pleased to see Into the Blue has added Romeo and Juliet as one of the classic books you can have personalised to create your very own love story in Verona. Imagine yourself hanging off balconies bemoaning the fact that you really shouldn’t have fallen for your man, but move over Romeo and Juliet it’s your chosen names that’ll be printed in the book.

We reckon this is one really quite unique present which anyone who has ever studied Shakespeare at school or who just loves a good, dramatic love story will love. Now I wonder if four times married Sean Bean would mind us just slipping his name into our personalised classic…
