Take Dad to the epicentre of beer for a brilliant Father’s Day outing. Now that’s one cool Dad celebrating Father’s Day in a tank!
Without doubt a perennial favourite, this experience will see you and Dad sharing tank driving time on a crazy, mud-filled off road circuit. And if you needed any more convincing that this is a fun thing to do, just take a look at the photo. That’s someone’s Dad having an absolute ball in a tank. ‘Nuff said! Buy it for just £105 for the two of you.
And finally…celebrating Father’s Day with socks!

Tank driving Dads
We talk about our ‘green and pleasant Land’, which is all very nice, but sometimes our ‘brown and muddy Land’ is best. And that’s because that’s what tank driving is all about! One of our best-selling Father’s Day gifts of all time, there’s something about Dads getting stuck in to the mud with a fully-tracked military vehicle that they adore.
Military vehicle driving starts at just £29, whilst the ‘Dads and Lads’ (or lasses’) tank day is a winner at £99 – and it means you, as their beloved son or daughter, can take part in the mud-filled tank driving fun too. Our top tip is a car crush tank driving experience. It’s not cheap, but then it’s not every day you can send Dad off in a 55-tonne Chieftain tank to go and drive straight up and over a car and squash it flat is it?
If you’re reading this and that’s your car being crushed to bits by a Daddy in a Chieftain – we’re sorry!
Getting into Bushcraft with Daddies
Dad doesn’t have to be as gnarly as Bear Grylls to enjoy a bushcraft experience. Whilst there’s no climbing inside the carcasses of large mammals to try and keep warm, Daddy will be leaving the comfort of his favourite armchair and leaving the TV remote behind to survive in the wild for a while. That means foraging for food, making fires and building shelters.
If you’re looking for a Father’s Day present for the kids to give, we have a family bushcraft day in Surrey, so all the gang can enjoy life by the campfire together. But if these sound rather tame, we have got the original Bear Grylls Born Survivor bushcraft course that really will push them to limits, with an intense day hosted by members of Bear’s team.
Enjoy Father’s Day together on a family bushcraft experience
Dad’s sailing away day
They say nothing beats the feel of the sea spray and wind if your face as you sail the open waters of the sea. As to how you get that feeling, there are several ways for Dad to enjoy the sea air. If they love a challenge, book them onto a dingy sailing course where they learn to sail solo. If you reckon Pops will think modern yachts and dinghies lack soul, how about a tall ship sailing experience? They can be a hands-on ship’s mate for the voyage, or simply sit on deck and enjoy the sheer pleasure of being on such a beautiful vessel.
Would your Dad find his sea legs on a tall ship sailing day?
JetBoards for go-getter Dads
For daredevil Daddies who feel the need for speed, we have some rather action-packed ways to ride the waves. Our JetLev and Flyboarding section is packed full of madcap waterborne activities, but the maddest has to be Jet Surfing. Just as the name implies, this is a surf board, but with a built-in motor. No need to seek out the perfect swells to ride the 20ft barrels dude, surfing Dads can hang 10 on flat water!
Go Daddy, go! Daddies will love giving motorised surfing a go this Father’s Day!
Flying and Spitfire flights for Father’s Day
Dads and planes. They kind of go hand in hand don’t they? That’s why the go-to section on our website for Father’s Day is the Flying experiences page. Absolutely everything aviation-related is in here, from your 20 minute trial flying lesson in something like a Cessna, to a nice floaty hot air balloon ride.
But nothing could possibly prepare him for the ultimate air-bound experience ever: a flight in a two-seater Spitfire. Club together, raid their retirement fund and roll all their birthdays into one to give them that once-in-a-lifetime chance to fly in the wondrous Spitfire, with that Merlin engine sound we all know and love.
This is Maurice. He’s just landed back at Biggin Hill after his two seater Spitfire flight. This could be your Dad on the next departure!
Drone flying – Dad’s new thing!
Equally aerial, but an experience where Dads keep their feet firmly on the ground is drone flying. With advances in drone technology, it’s become far more accessible, which is why drone flying is becoming really, really popular. There’s even a whole competition sport based around drone racing. Even though it’s a world away from their youth when they got into sticky situations with AirFix kits and superglue, Dads are bound to love piloting a high-tech, high-definition quadrocopter!
Forget model train sets and aero modelling, the new hobby for Dad is drone flying!
Land, Sea and Air just for Dad
All these and a whole load of other experiences that take place on land, at sea and in the air are all available now on intotheblue.co.uk. With Father’s Day coming up, we imagine many of you are stuck for a gift to buy for your Dad. We thought we’d take a bit of a sideways look at what gifts to buy for Father’s Day, with a selection of our best experience days for Dads – on two wheels!
Call us nostalgic, but we think there’s something wonderful about harking back to those carefree-days when you all played outside on your bikes and Dad was the one who first showed you how to ride with the stabilisers off. We reckon Daddies all over the UK of any age will love these two-wheeled gift experiences that’ll give them lots to smile about this Father’s Day.
In our two wheeler collection we’ve got vintage, we’ve got high-tech, we’ve got hip and happening, we’ve got eccentric and we’ve even got aerial thrills. Intrigued? Well, without further ado, here’s our top two wheel experiences for a fun Father’s Day celebration this year.
Happy Dads getting ready for their Father’s Day Harley Davidson ride out
Harley Davidson hire
When you think of two wheels you think bike. When you think motorbike you think Harley Davidson. This is surely a dream experience for biker Dads. They’ll get to ride their very own Route 66-style road trip with a day’s Harley hire. Although a tassled biker jacket and Ray Bans aren’t obligatory for this experience, they will need a motorbike licence to be at the helm of a Harley, but we also have experiences to ride as a pillion passenger too. This has got to be the king of all two wheeled, adrenaline-filled experiences for Dads!
Dirt biking Daddies having (environmentally-friendly) fun on electric dirt bikes
Electric dirt bike riding
We’re still talking motorbikes here, but swopping the big American cruisers for agile trial bikes. Get Dad in all the gear and hope he’s not going to be all ‘no idea’ when you take him dirt biking on these fabulous electric-powered trials bikes. Less noise, just as much power and possibly even more fun than their traditional petrol-powered counterparts, you can only watch in awe as Dad gets back to his lost youth, ripping it up those mudbanks like a naughty teenager.
Watch in despair as your Dad tries (and succeeds) to be as embarrassing as possible on a Segway
These gyroscopic personal transporters are quite possibly the most eccentric thing on two wheels! We’ve got loads of locations around the UK offering Segway treks and safaris. You could be sending Daddy off around a country house estate rounds parts not normally open to the public, or attacking a tricky obstacle course. And whilst these things look easy, when you first get on them they are tricky little things to master. Riding a Segway will be like nothing your Dad has even been on before and will, quite possibly, turn him into a giggling fool!
Chocks away Dad, you’re going on a ‘seat of your pants’ Tiger Moth flight for Father’s Day!
Tiger Moth flights
Ah yes, these fabulous vintage biplanes only have two wheels! Whilst everything from light aircraft like Cessnas to big Airbus jets have three wheels, the good old Moth is, what aviators affectionately call, a ‘tail dragger’. That’s to say there are two wheels on the undercarriage under the wings and just a skid on the back. Come to think of it, the Moth doesn’t have a nose wheel, any brakes, no starter and not even a roof. You could say this really is back to basics flying ‘by the seat of your pants’ and we think your Dad will love a flight in an open-cockpit Tiger Moth.
DJ Dad on the double-decked wheels of steel having it large this Father’s Day
Transform him from a terrible Dad dancer into a superstar ‘who’s the Daddy’ DJ with this learn to be a DJ experience. You might be asking where the two wheels come into it? Well, have you never heard of the DJs playing the latest tunes on the double-decked wheels of steel? Two decks (they’re the wheel bits), a mixer, some records and a sense of rhythm and you’re away. Next stop for your disco Daddy is Ibiza to give the likes of David Guetta and Calvin Harris a run for their money on the dance floor!
Some Airstream love for Dad (and Mum) on Father’s Day
Stay in an Airstream
Caravans have two wheels. But mention the word ‘caravanning’ to Dad and he’ll probably wince and wither, with visions of being stuck on the M5 to Cornwall towing a caravan for hours on end. Well, rest assured, with these vintage Airstream holidays everything is ready for you, right down to the vintage crockery and board games. So how about treating Dad and Mum to a funky retro weekend away for Father’s Day (and you can have a party in the house while they’re gone…).
So there you have it – our collection of Father’s Day experiences on two wheels to get you rolling when it comes to ideas for gifts for Dad this Father’s Day. We’ve got a whole load more of suggestions for you on our Special Occasion Father’s Day gift page too.
