Hot on the heels of Valentine’s Day comes Mother’s Day

A Mother's Day present with a difference - get Mum making her own jewellery!

A Mother’s Day present with a difference – get Mum making her own jewellery!

We’ve only just ‘recovered’ from St Valentine’s Day and yet Mother’s Day is nearly open us, with the big day being Sunday 14th March this year.

The shops are full of no-go options for our Mum : chocolates (cholesterol), cute teddy bears (has too many already), perfume (brings her out in a rash) and underwear. Just who buys their Mum underwear for Mother’s Day?! That’s just wrong.

So, we turned to our faithful friend the t’internet and it has to be said Into the Blue has got some cracking deals for something a bit different for Mum this Mothering Sunday.

As well as all the usual spa day type experiences, Into the Blue has got some more unusual activities to tempt Mum with, including flower arrnaging in Edinburgh – where you can take a little weekend break to this fine Scottish city and learn how to make those bunches look lovely. Quite relaxing and therapeutic to.

In a similar vein, we spotted jewellery making courses. Working with fine metals and jewels to make your own sparkly accessories sounds like a great way to spend a day and you get to wear your own creations afterwards too.

Don't just buy her Mother's Day flowers - send her on a flower arranging course!

But the one we’re most tempted to get for our Mum is the be a farmer for a day experience. Somehow, we think it’d be fun to see our Mum swopping her posh court shoes and matching handbag for wellington boots and overalls down on the farm. The photos will be family classics that’s for sure!

Whatever you’re thinking about buying for Mother’s Day, you’ve not got long left to go as it’s on the 14th March, so make a note and get on the case sooner rather than later!
