What Can I Expect
A fabulous combo target experience at Southdown Gun Club near Worthing! Fire a variety of guns at clays, try air rifles and have a go at axe throwing too with these all-encompassing experiences in West Sussex.
This award-winning shooting ground has an enviable location on a farm estate near Findon, in the heart of the Southdowns National Park. It’s a great place for a shooting ground and easy to access from Worthing, Brighton and beyond.
The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and supportive, whether you’re a seasoned clay shooter, or never even fired a gun before. All the gear is included and guns are chosen to suit your build and experience level.
Fifteen clays will be fired for you to take aim and shoot at using a 12, 20 or 410 bore shotguns. You’ll then take it up a notch doing 15 rounds with a semi-automatic, which is a much more powerful piece of kit.
After your clay shoot, you’ll move over to Southdown’s axe throwing area to see how you get on chucking axes into chunky wood targets, as well as time with the air rifles picking off various targets.
What we love about Southdown gun club is that spectators are welcomed and they can watch the action from safe, designated areas. You can also add a meal option to your voucher for breakfast or lunch in the club’s on site cafe. Great for small groups and families!

Suitable For
- All abilities may shoot at this gun club
- Minimum age for clay shooting is 10 years old and 16 years old for the shotgun
- Participants must be strong enough to hold a gun firmly
- Suitable outdoor comfortable clothing and footwear should be worn
Spectators
- Spectators are very welcome free of charge
- Guests may view the shooting in action but must stay within the areas designated by the instructors
- Under 16s must be fully supervised at all times
- Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead
Anything Else
- There is a cafeteria where hot and cold refreshments may be purchased
