What Can I Expect

All aboard the Santa train in Somerset! Join Father Christmas and friends for a festive train ride on the lovely East Somerset Railway. There are departures throughout December, so don't delay, book today!

Your yuletide experience at East Somerset includes a 30-minute journey on the Santa Special and a visit to see the big man himself at his very special North Pole Station. Every child will receive a present and grown ups will be happy too, as the helper elves serve mulled wine and home-baked mince pies!

And Santa has given us an important message that we wanted to pass on : “When you book your seats on my Santa train, my fully-trained elf customer service assistants will ask you the age and gender of all the children coming, so that I can personally select a really nice present suitable for their age. But of course, only if they've been good this year!”

Booked in and ready, you will be boarding your Santa train at East Somerset Railway's main Cranmore Station. Festively decorated and with Christmas music playing, the steam train will pull away from the station filled with eager young passengers who can't wait to meet Santa Claus.

Each child will receive a goody bag to take onboard, filled with crayons and things to do whilst riding the train. There'll even be a balloon modeller onboard who'll wow all ages with their amazing creations.

After your train ride, follow the signs to the North Pole station to find Father Christmas in his railway grotto. Whilst the little ones are talking presents and Christmas wishes, the mulled wine and mince pies will be served (alternatively, Santa says you can have tea or coffee).

These wonderfully festive excursions are hugely popular every Christmas time, so make sure you buy your tickets early and get your date reserved. And remember, every child gets a present from Santa. Kids love it!
