Got a guitar and want to know how to properly set it up? These one-day guitar set up courses in Somerset are for you! And even if you aren't the proud owner of an electric guitar, host Josh can lend you one for the day.

Josh, a highly skilled musician and guitar maker, is enthusiastic and passionate about guitars. He's also very patient with students who are finding their feet in the world of music and in particular guitar playing - in essence, the ideal tutor!

You will soon learn there's so much more to setting up a guitar than you'd think. The nuances of how a seemingly small tweak or adjustment can completely alter how the guitar plays is fascinating.

Throughout the day course, you'll be shown a plethora of techniques and tweaks, from how to adjust the truss (the metal rod behind the guitar's neck), to tweaking your pick up heights to enhance tone, according to your playing style.

As you can probably tell, this is all quite intricate work, so Josh ensures the maximum group size for his guitar set up courses is just three people, so everyone gets all the time and hands-on help they need.

By the end of the day, you and your guitar will be leaving the workshop finely tuned, adjusted and ready to play!

When Is It Available

• This experience is available Monday - Friday throughout the year 
• Courses start at 09:00 and finish at 16:30 
• You will stop for a lunch break at 13:00
• Dates are subject to availability

• Under 18's must be accompanied by an adult with no additional cost

• You will be required to bring your own guitar 
• If you do not own a guitar please speak to the operator upon booking who can provide one 
• Tea and coffee will be provided on the day
• There is a kitchen available to bring your own lunch or you can visit a shop close by
