What Can I Expect

The most adorable Santa Paws experience for dogs ever! Our friends at East Somerset Railway are running special Santa Paws steam trains in the run up to Christmas 2026, so your much-loved doggy can meet Santa Claus!

This really is festive fun for all the family, including your four-pawed furry friend. You will all depart on a mid-morning Santa Paws special train, to enjoy the five-mile round trip along this heritage steam train line that runs from Cranmore, near Shepton Mallet.

Included in your experience is the chance for your dog to meet Santa in his grotto. And of course, there is ample opportunity for you to photograph the utterly paw-some moment your canine bestie says hello to Father Christmas.

And it seems Santa doesn’t arrive empty-handed at East Somerset Railway, as he has a bag of goodies just for dogs and that means every dog who meets Santa gets a gift to take away with them.

Ridiculously cute, it’s so nice to have a day out where your four-legged is not only welcome, but the star of the experience. Getting to meet Santa is a bit of a doggy dream we reckon, so these brilliant Santa Paws experiences are just the ticket.
