What Can I Expect
A special bird of prey photography session in Nottinghamshire! If you're a keen amateur wildlife photographer or you just love birds of prey, these experiences are perfect for you.
Dan is the head falconer and it was his idea to offer photographers exclusive time with the birds at his falconry centre. Capturing such elusive raptors in the wild is a tricky business and these sessions will see you getting up close to the birds without all the waiting around!
Resident species include hawks, owls and falcons. They are highly trained and love to participate in displays and experience days, so they are very used to being around people. And in fact, they relish performing for the camera!
There will be plenty of opportunity to take shots of the birds in flight and sitting pretty on their perches, as Dan and his team of handlers will run through exercises, whilst you are well-placed to take superb shots.
A photo of a falcon with its full wingspan open is amazing. Capture the eyes of an eagle in a close up pic, or catch the moment a hawk's beak grabs the meat titbit from the handler's glove.
They say the best tip for getting great shots is to let the birds come to you. Select your background carefully and use of a tripod are the recommendations of professional wildlife photographers. And don't shy away from shooting in black and white - they make for really good, dramatic shots of these regal raptors.
In essence, you'll have three hours with the birds and the handlers for your photoshoot. In that time you'll get to know their characters and characteristics and you'll capture all that on camera. Buy your vouchers for these Birds of Prey photography experiences in Nottinghamshire now.
