What Can I Expect

Axe throwing near Newark at North Muskham! These great value ‘have a go’ sessions will see you learning how to lob axes and even knives into the wooden targets at this outdoor activity centre in North Nottinghamshire.

Nestled in the heart of the countryside, yet just a few minutes from the main A1 trunk road, this is a great place for a spot of axe throwing. The people who run the centre are friendly and professional, with well-organised sessions.

All are welcome, with the minimum age for axe and knife throwing at this Newark venue being 10 years, with all under 16s needing to be accompanied by an adult. Once on site, you’ll be shown all the safety bits and pieces, before heading to the axe arena.

You’ll soon see that it’s all about stance and technique, rather than brute strength. You're sure to have a few spectacular misses, where the axe drops to the ground with a dull thud, but the moment you get your first hit you will be ecstatic - and quite rightly too!

As well as traditional roundel-type targets, you may also get to throw axes at some zombie faces (don’t worry, they’re just drawings!) and even get to try throwing knives too. Again, it’s all about technique.
