What Can I Expect

This is your invitation to the Wild Wolf Breakfast - an early morning wolf experience to feed wolves at Hoo Zoo near Telford, bringing you face to face with some of the zoo’s most captivating carnivores.

You will be joining the experienced keepers as you assist with the food preparation (prepping raw meat!) and feeding the resident Arctic Wolves, Eurasian Wolf Hybrids and even the Red Foxes too.

From inside the keeper area adjacent to the wolf paddock, you will use food tongs to feed the wolves their favourite breakfast time treats of delicious meats, which they will, of course, wolf down!

Being so close to these often misunderstood creatures allows you to observe their fascinating behaviours and pack dynamics, as they enjoy their morning meal. Your keeper host will also tell you all about their role looking after these very special residents.

Breakfast time for the wolves done, it’s time to head over to meet their distant cousins the Red Foxes. Under the guidance of the keepers, you will actually enter the fox enclosure for this part of the experience and feed the adorable creatures by hand.

Throughout the session, your keeper will ensure both your safety and the wellbeing of the animals. With a maximum of four participants per experience, you’ll enjoy a personal, engaging encounter with plenty of photo opportunities to capture those special moments.

After your fox and wolf experience you are welcome to explore the rest of the zoo and meet even more amazing animals.  The Wild Wolf Breakfast is an exclusive chance to feed wolves and foxes in a safe, educational and truly unforgettable setting.

When Is It Available

• Selected weekdays and weekends throughout the year
• Experiences generally take place at 08:45
• Due to the popularity of this experience please book well in advance to avoid disappointment

Suitable For

• Minimum age 16
• Under 18s must be accompanied by a participating adult

Anything Else

• At the  keepers discretion they may forgo the food preparation part of the experience in order to allow more time with the animals
• This will happen in the event that the keeper decides that the Wolves or Foxes are being more interactive on that day
• Participants should arrive 10 minutes before their session start time for registration
• Normal admission to the centre applies for non-participants
• Please be aware that the animals welfare is of utmost importance.  The animals to do anything against their nature and all interaction is done on their terms
