What Can I Expect

Head to this shooting range in Hertfordshire for air guns and pistols! This purpose-built ground is just outside the county town of Hertford near Panshanger Park. It's a lovely part of the world to visit for your shooting day and the range is peaceful - apart from the sound of keen hotshots of course!

The club was founded in 1970 and has been based out of this Hertford range since the 1980s. With over 250 active members on the books, the weekly fixtures are always well attended. There's a good atmosphere in and around the clubhouse where you too can get refreshments (shooting all those pistols and rifles is hungry work, after all!).

The facilities are as high calibre as the shooting. Your session will be hosted and led by a highly experienced marksman who will teach you all you need to know about shooting, be it pistol handgun or an air rifle.

You'll soon find out the age-old adage of aiming and squeezing that trigger slowly is certainly true and one of the most important factors when shooting at targets. Pulling the trigger abruptly is a surefire way of making the gun move slightly off position at best. At worst your hand wobbles and your shot flies right on past the target.

This Hertfordshire team will be on hand to set up your stance - arms at length, but not locked off completely, weight every so slightly forward to cope with the recoil of the gun going off and feet apart the width of your shoulders. Don't forget to grip that gun tight, don't lean back, remember to control your breathing and before you know it you will be taking on the best shooters at this club at their own game!

We are offering tasters in air rifle or pistol shooting, as well as a combo experience to do both at this shooting range in Hertfordshire. Cartridges, pellets and protective gear is included for the two of you, as are the guns that are selected for your build and size. Time to let the shots ring out in the air!
