What Can I Expect

Private helicopter rides over the Jurassic Coast - the most amazing way to see this incredible coastline! Up to four of you can fly together with this one voucher, on your personal helicopter charter.

Your exclusive tour will set off from Dunkeswell Airfield, just north of Honiton. You’ll be flying in an executive Bell 206 Jet Ranger helicopter (the sort you see shuttling VIPs around at important events!) for these bespoke tours.

We are offering private tour vouchers for a 20 or 30-minute flight to discover the East Devon part of the Jurassic Coast.

Straight after take off, you’ll follow the River Sid, winding its way to Sidmouth, the quaint seaside resort where every beach is a treasure trove of fossils and where the red cliffs stand out against the sea.

Those on the 30-minute flight will then continue their private ride in an easterly direction along the coastline to Seaton, passing the likes of Salcombe Regis, Weston, Branscombe, Hooken Cliffs and Beer.

Given that the Jurassic Coast is England’s first and currently only natural UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s a real privilege to see it all from the air. Just imagine all those fossils and rocks that are over 185 million years old - it’s mind-blowing and very picturesque too.

Remember, the price you pay is for the whole helicopter for the 20 or 30-minute tour with up to four of you riding as passengers. A private Jurassic Coast helicopter ride is a wonderful must-do experience!

When Is It Available

• Selected days of the month usually at weekends, throughout the year
• Season runs between March - November
• Sightseeing flights are subject to availability and weather conditions

• Under 12s must be accompanied by a participating adult
• Maximum height 6ft 6ins
• Weight restrictions: maximum 15 stone*   P lease see the 'Anything else' section

Spectators

• Spectators are welcome to view take off and landing
• There is a cafeteria at Dunkeswell Aerodrome

Anything Else

• Tour routes can vary due to change due to weather conditions and air traffic control
• Flying activities have maximum weights (per seat) to ensure health and safety along with the comfort of fellow passenger
• You must enter passenger/participant weight at the time of booking an experience. If weight varies between the time of initial booking and date of flight experience it remains the responsibility of the customer to update their individual weight via their online account prior to flight
• All passengers will be weighed before flight and if disparity exists between weight disclosed and actual weight (within reason), the passenger may be illegible to fly

• Please note that the maximum weight limit for the Co Pilot Seat on a helicopter pleasure flight varies depending on aircraft and other operational considerations (subject to availability upgrade payable direct)
• If as a party of one you weigh in excess of 15 stone, you may still be able to fly however you will need to purchase an additional seat. This seat will either have to remain unoccupied or can be occupied by an individual as long as the combined total as listed above is not exceeded
