What Can I Expect
The Land Rover Experience - book half or full-days at Rockingham Castle to drive the very latest Range Rovers and Land Rovers on impressive terrain in a stunning setting!
You will be given the choice of Defender, Discovery or Range Rover at the time of booking.
You are always going to get the best vehicles and the best instructors on these sessions, as they are official Land Rover Experiences. As product experts, the instructors are all super passionate and knowledgeable and it’s a real pleasure to be in their company.
After a warm welcome, refreshments and a chat with your Instructor in the reception area, you will then be taken to your vehicle.
They are all ready to do things that surely shouldn’t be possible in a vehicle and these powerhouse off-roaders conquer them all with ease. Even the Range Rovers, (which are perhaps perceived more for their comfort than their offroad prowess) pack a whole punch of clever onboard technology so they can roar for a while before going back to purring!
As the instructors say, if you ‘trust in the vehicle’ (even when you’re at the crest of a blind hill) all will be well and in fact you will have an absolute ball tackling steeps, descents and a water crossing. Your instructor will explain what an obstacle is, how to tackle it and then you drive it, all in an encouraging, pressure free, positive and safe environment.
Those on the Land Rover Experience full days will have lots more time to explore the variety of tracks and trails around the estate and gain a deeper understanding of being able to read the surface and the terrain - and there’s a lovely pub lunch included too!

Location
- The 300-acre private estate is located in the picturesque grounds of Rockingham Castle
- From the highest point of the estate you'll have views of Northamptonshire, Rutland, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire
Suitable For
- All drivers must hold a full and valid licence with at least 12 months uninterrupted driving experience on a full licence without serious accident or conviction, and have no more than 7 penalty points
Spectators
- This is a private experience where the recipient can bring up to two other guests to share the drive time or be passenger in the vehicle
- Unfortunately other spectators are not recommended due to limited visibility
Anything Else
- Appropriate footwear and comfortable, casual clothes are recommended
