What Can I Expect

The Palace of Holyroodhouse tickets with afternoon tea on the move included! These Edinburgh visitor packages include entry to the Palace and a 90-minute ride around the city on a vintage double decker bus, with afternoon tea served at your seat.

Sitting in an imposing position at the end of Edinburgh's famous Royal Mile, the Palace at Holyroodhouse is the King's official residence in Scotland. State ceremonies and official Scottish events are held here, with members of the Royal Family in attendance.

Steeped in history dating back over 500 years, the Palace is a fascinating place to visit. The Historic Apartments are forever linked with Mary Queen of Scots and her turbulent reign and life, which included plenty of drama - including murder.

We also love seeing the Palace State Apartments. This is where members of the Royal Family have entertained for decades. Apparently, Bonnie Prince Charlie's parties in the Great Gallery were legendary.

Many works of arts, artefacts and pieces of furniture from the priceless Royal Collection adorn the walls and the rooms of Holyrood. And don't forget to take a stroll around the lovely gardens too. With so much to see, no wonder it is one of Edinburgh's biggest tourist attractions.

After your palace visit, head to Waterloo Place, where your vintage double-decker bus will be waiting. Departures are at midday and 3pm. (We'd recommend visiting the Palace in the morning and doing the bus in the afternoon).

For the next hour and a half, you'll see all the landmarks and sights of Edinburgh, from Greyfriar's Bobby and the Scott Monument, to the Elephant House Cafe and Edinburgh Castle on your non-guided trip. At the same time, a delicious Scottish afternoon tea will be served onboard during your journey.

If you want to see Edinburgh from a new perspective, these packages combining a vintage bus ride with afternoon tea and tickets to the Palace at Holyroodhouse are a great day out!
