What Can I Expect

Fantastic gyrocopter flights in Kent! We are offering vouchers for a full range of flight durations, setting off from Rochester Airport just south Chatham, with 15, 30, 60 and 90-minute flights available in open-cockpit gyroplanes.

Pilot instructor Kai Maurer has been flying gyrocopters for many, many years - and in fact his gyro school was one of the first to work with us here at Into The Blue. With well over 6000 hours of flying under his belt, you're in safe hands with Kai, who is also author of the ‘The Gyro Quick Guide' handbook.

The open-cockpit tandem-configuration are the original gyrocopters. This gyro school in Kent has a fantastic fleet of open-cockpit gyroplanes, including the latest aircraft from the likes of MTOSport and Calidus.

And we have to agree, modern gyrocopters are brilliant. They're like a hybrid of a helicopter and a fixed wing plane. They are super popular due to their agility and simplicity of design. Did you know a gyro can stand still in the air and whizz along at 100 mph with ease?

As for where you get to fly on your experience? Needless to say, you're in North Kent and so within minutes of taking off you could be glimpsing the sea, historic dockyards and that famous Kentish rolling countryside, all from your seat in the gyro.

If you're looking for a gyrocopter flight over Kent with that thrilling ‘open to the elements' feel and a highly experienced pilot to show you the ropes, these gyro experiences out of Rochester Airport are the perfect choice!
