The Art of Propagation:  Discover the art of plant propagation at the stunning gardens of Le Manoir! Learn how to divide, cut, and multiply your favorite plants with ease. This beginner-friendly course covers the essentials of propagation—helping you grow more for free, rejuvenate tired crops, and share extra blooms with friends. With just a little time, skill, and patience, you’ll unlock a greener, more abundant garden.

Edible Garden:  Embark on a flavourful journey through our potager garden. From vegetables and herbs to flowers and leaves, delicious ingredients are everywhere—if you know where to look. Harvest fresh produce, learn sowing secrets in our botanical glasshouse, and discover the vibrant colours, textures, and tastes of our heritage varieties. As Raymond says, "the vegetable garden is the canvas upon which we paint our gastronomy."

Grow Your Own Herbs:  Join us at the Raymond Blanc Gardening School to explore the world of herbs. Learn about their history, how to grow them from seeds and cuttings, and the best ways to prune, water, and feed. Discover how to preserve your harvest for winter stews and soups. Enjoy a shared lunch with fellow students and refreshments throughout the day.

Grow Your Own Vegetables:  Get garden-ready for the seasons ahead at the Raymond Blanc Gardening School.
Learn how to grow your own organic kitchen garden, explore our favourite varieties, and sow the flavours of Le Manoir at home for a lasting harvest. Our expert gardeners will guide you through soil science, composting, and tips to make the most of your growing space. Enjoy a shared lunch and refreshments throughout the day.

Summer Fruit Pruning:  Spend a day in our orchard of 2500 trees with our Head Orchard Gardener to explore pruning a variety of tree forms. Begin by learning the theory and then enjoy a practical, hands-on learning experience focused on pruning your own trees to optimise the fruit health and weight of this year's crop.

Soil to Plate:  At Le Manoir, every dish begins with the soil. Flavour, nutrition, and excellence start beneath the surface, where healthy soil brings food to life. Join us to explore the no dig method—our sustainable approach to growing flavour while protecting the earth for future generations. Learn how to grow vibrant, organic vegetables without costly tools, fertilisers, or feeds, and start your own no dig garden with confidence.

What Can I Expect

Welcome to the Raymond Blanc Garden workshops! A programme of half-day workshops hosted by the horticultural experts at the celebrated French chef's Gardening School to give you an amazing insight into foods we can find in the garden.

Based in the grounds of Raymond Blanc's double Michelin-starred restaurant and luxury Belmond hotel Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons at Great Milton near Oxford, your visit is going to be very fruitful in every way. Put simply, it's an amazing place to visit.

During the half-day workshop of your choice, you will be shown what culinary treats can be found in gardens when you know where to look. And of course, the produce growing in these gardens is used in the kitchens of the famous restaurant, ensuring freshness and seasonality is top priority for the brigade of dedicated chefs.

You will also learn skills from the expert gardening team, such as fruit tree pruning, optimising your soil, how seeds are sown and grown in the glass houses, herb growing and vegetable gardening too. This is a truly fascinating part of the workshop and it's clear to see the skill and how committed the gardening team is to heritage varieties of fruits and vegetables.

These Raymond Blanc gardening workshops showcase the skill and commitment the team is to nurturing heritage varieties of fruits and vegetables. You will also have plenty of time to ask all your questions about growing your own produce and life in the gardens at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons.
