What Can I Expect
The man himself might be flamboyant and fiery, but your Marco Pierre White afternoon tea will be a very well behaved treat! The two of you are invited to sample Marco’s afternoon tea at his MPW restaurant at the Best Western Premier hotel in Kegworth, just down the road from East Midlands Airport.
And with Marco Pierre White’s Italian heritage, what could be a more a appropriate way to start your afternoon tea than a very generous serving of Prosecco? The flute of the fizzy stuff will certainly get you in the mood for a bubbly afternoon spent chatting, maybe catching up with friends, showing your romantic side with your other half, or just enjoying time with family.
Between 2 and 5pm every day, the waiting staff at this Kegworth hotel and restaurant welcome you to enjoy afternoon tea in the restaurant. The dining area has been beautifully designed, with gorgeous lighting and soft leather booth seating that makes it a cross between a Gentleman’s Club and a New York dinner.
The walls are adorned with artwork, including several moody black and white portraits of the ‘enfant terrible’ of the culinary world. Look closely and you’ll see that in one of the photos, Marco is sitting in the exact same high-backed armchair that sits beneath the framed print. Go on, have a seat and share a portrait picture moment with the three-starred Michelin chef himself on the wall behind you!
And whoever you share your afternoon tea platter with, it’s going to a be an impressive, three-tiered one. As your server carries out the tower, you’ll see it is stacked with all the classic ingredients that make for a successful afternoon tea eating experience. Well-sized portions of cake, freshly made sandwiches with the crusts cut off and, of course, the scones all feature, along with copious amounts of clotted cream.
Having enjoyed sipping your chilled Prosecco, you’ll move on to hot drinks. The MPW restaurant in Kegworth uses the highly regarded Italian Musetti beans for all your latte, cappuccino and Americano needs, whilst Mr Twining provides the tea.
All in all, our Marco Pierre White afternoon tea at this Kegworth hotel provides a very agreeable way for the two of you to spend an afternoon sampling sweet and savoury goodies that have been given the stamp of approval by Chef Marco himself.
