What Can I Expect

Go open-cockpit on these gyrocopter flights over East Anglia! We are offering 60 and 90-minute experiences out of Beccles Airfield for you to discover these amazing flying machines.

Gyrocopters are pretty cool. Also known as autogyros, these aircraft have a rotor blade above your head (a bit like a helicopter) and a blade behind the seats too. They are super light, with a maximum take off weight of 500kg.

And we have to say, they've evolved a lot since that first flight in 1923. The MTO Sport gyrocopter you'll be flying in out of Beccles Airfield is a triumph of design. With comfort and functionality top of the list of requirements, this award-winning gyro has it all in abundance.

Once strapped into your race car-style seat, your instructor/pilot will start the lesson. Gyros have tandem seating, so you'll have a headset so you can communicate with each other. And of course, it's a completely open cockpit, so you'll be wearing a flying suit too.

As well as looking the part for your gyrocopter flight over the lovely East Anglia countryside, you will be the part too, because all experiences include the chance for you to take control and fly.

And what a place to be flying a gyrocopter! The airfield is right on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, where the East Anglian countryside meets the coast. From stately homes, formal gardens and even zoological reserves, to the cliffs and beaches by the sea around Lowestoft, you could be seeing it all from the gyrocopter.

Grass roots aviation at its best, book your gyrocopter flight out of East Anglia's Beccles Airfield now and get ready for a taste of open-cockpit flying!
