What Can I Expect

Introducing the brilliant bridge bungee jump of Whitby! These very special vouchers give you the chance to go bungee jumping over the water from Larpool bridge, an impressive viaduct with sky-high views of the Yorkshire countryside. 

The iconic Larpool Viaduct overlooking Whitby Bay is a much-loved local landmark mentioned in Bram Stoker's ‘Dracula' - and now here's your chance to jump off it (attached to a bungee rope, of course!). For decades, steam trains trundled along this impressive brick-built bridge between the North Yorkshire Moors and the coast. The trains are long-gone and it's now a popular walking and cycling path with fabulous views.

With 13 brick-built arches stretching 305 yards over the River Esk at a height of 130ft, you can see Whitby Abbey and the sea, which is pretty awesome. But of course, you're not here to sightsee. You're here to fling yourself off the bridge for the bungee experience of your life!

You're on the edge of the viaduct. You look down at the water below. You might want to turn back. But before you can change your mind, the jumpmaster gives you the call and away you go. You fly out over the river and plunge downwards, only to bounce back high into the air several times on the elastic bungee rope.

Then you are lowered towards a waiting launch and plucked from the air. Filled with adrenaline, it's back to the river's edge, waving to your family and friends watching from above on the bridge.

Suitable For

• Minimum age is 14 years
• Jumpers under the age of 16 will require a parent or guardian's permission and signature
• Customers 50 years and above should seek medical advice prior to their event to ensure there is no medical reason for them not to participate
• The maximum weight limit is 18.9 stone
• There are no height restrictions
• Waist harnesses fit waist size of 40cm (15.7 inches) to 125cm (49.2 inches)
• Alcohol - if you appear intoxicated you cannot jump
• Please inform the operator if you are taking any form of medication
• If you are not in good health you should NOT jump
• If you have any of the following conditions you should seek medical advice before jumping; high blood pressure, heart condition, suffer from dizziness or epilepsy, damage to neck, back, spinal column, legs or eyes, asthma, pregnancy
• If you suffer from any of the above but have been given a doctors certificate, you will be requested to sign a non standard waiver. Please read it carefully
• Glasses and hard contact lenses cannot be worn
• Boots may need to be removed when jumping

Spectators

• Spectators are welcome to come and watch you, with unique views from the top of the bridge
• Registration is at Marina Back Car Park Langbourne Road, Whitby, YO21 1YN. The jumper goes with a member of staff to the top of the bridge and spectators have a short walk from registration to the viewing area at the bottom of the bridge where the jumper meets them after they have finished
• Video footage of your jump can be purchased on the day. Photographs and merchandise are also available
